The LGBTQ+ Center at West Virginia University is giving students a platform to present their research as it relates to LGBTQ+ topics. Our next presentation will be Wednesday, 3/26/2025 from 6:00-7:00PM.
Michael Richards, a Social Work PhD Candidate, explores LGBTQ+ individuals in Appalachia, focusing on how queer Appalachian individuals find and build spiritual capital. This presentation explores the challenges and opportunities LGBTQ+ individuals may face as they navigate the challenging area of spirituality and sexuality in Appalachian culture.
