The integrated Music Technology and Music programs provide a unique community for students and faculty alike to collaborate, create, and learn. Shoreline welcomes faculty with a vision of excellence in instruction and an ability to employ various formats and styles in support of successful student learning. Shoreline seeks faculty who can adapt to a variety of teaching situations and who have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff, and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding.

Music Technology instructors in the Humanities division are responsible for teaching students in the music, music technology, or other professional-technical programs. Candidates who hold an appropriate Master's degree may also teach music transfer courses. Department faculty work collaboratively to develop curriculum integrating the study of music and music technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses in multi-track recording, mastering, replication, sampling, synthesis, MIDI programming, sound reinforcement and sound design, music theory, and individual instruction. A portion of the teaching assignment may be online, in the evening or weekend program, and/or at off-campus locations.

In addition to teaching, this position involves advising students, facilitating internships, and developing programs and curricula and as well as participating in college governance, department/division and campus-related professional activities/committees.

• Bachelor's degree in audio engineering music or a related field
• Three (3) years of music technology industry experience, including industry recognition
• Sound design experience which can support 3D and VR audio production, multimedia codecs, and optimization for internet streaming
• Classroom teaching experience and ability to use industry skills standards for curriculum and revision

• Principles of music and musical performance skills
• Current digital audio software and hardware

• Fostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and competence
• Imparting excitement and enthusiasm into the instruction of music technology
• Preparing students for emerging industry trends, evolving labor market needs, including the region's music production, interactive media and gaming industries
• Experience with or willingness to gain experience with teaching and developing coursework online
• Effective oral/written communication with individuals at all levels inside and outside the College
• Adapting to a variety of teaching situations with students from diverse backgrounds/abilities
• Developing/modifying curriculum both collaboratively and independently
• Working and interacting effectively with colleagues, staff, students, administrators and others of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
