Hamline University is excited to be looking to hire a new position:
The Associate Vice President for Inclusive Excellence leads the development, implementation, advancement and measurement of a strategic and integrated approach to diversity and inclusive excellence in all aspects of university life. This role provides strategic direction over a university-wide strategic diversity and inclusion plan under the auspices of the Office of Inclusive Excellence (OIE) and leads the integration and implementation of Hamline’s university-wide diversity and inclusion policies, programs and practices while ensuring continued alignment with the university’s mission and core values.
Hamline recognizes the essential role inclusion plays in efforts to prepare students for success in an increasingly variable and changing world. The individual in this role will have a shared vision of inclusion and have the ability to implement that vision across the university, strengthening our institutional inclusion where needed and driving and responding to change in the promotion of a more inclusive and high-impact university culture.
The Associate Vice President for Inclusive Excellence is responsible for coordinating the efforts, in collaboration with leaders from across the University, on promoting and assessing institutional structures, policies, and practices regarding: (1) equity-driven and innovative approaches to delivering higher education and diversity learning to all Hamline students; (2) learning-centered and assessment-based collaborations with faculty on curriculum and among co-curricular units, and external community partners; (3) rigorous engagement with diverse student retention and recruitment efforts and persistence to graduation; and (4) the value and sustainability of the office’s equity and inclusion work through ongoing research and assessment working with Institutional Research and Institutional Advancement leaders to make data driven decisions.
The Associate Vice President for Inclusive Excellence reports to the President and serves on the University Leadership Team staff and coordinates with the leaders from Enrollment and Academic Services, Human Resources and Student Affairs and leads an inclusive excellence council.
