The Director of Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA) is a key campus leader in the efforts to foster a more inclusive, welcoming, and equitable community. Under general direction, the Director serves as a resource and advocate for underrepresented students – especially for students whose ethnic, racial, gender identity, and sexual orientation identities play a primary role in their university experience.
Characteristic duties and responsibilities include: envisioning the next era of excellence and innovation for OMSA and working with students, faculty, staff, senior administrators, alumni and other stakeholders to establish support and capacity to implement this vision; partnering with academic and administrative units to implement initiatives that enhance student development, multicultural education, and global engagement; collaborating with student organizations and with other internal and external constituencies to provide activities, trainings, and intellectual exchanges that engage diverse perspectives and identities, promotes cultural competence, enriches campus climate and fosters a culture of mutual respect and inclusion.
For this position, UNH is seeking a visionary leader who understands the challenges of historically underrepresented and/or first generation college students, and who can help our campus meet our goal of fostering a campus climate that is broadly supportive of the success of students from underrepresented groups. Through an intersectional framework, the Director will create and promote an inclusive culture for student success while serving as a role model for students, providing the inspiration, vision, mentoring and direction needed to assist students in achieving their personal, academic, and professional goals.
This position reports to the Associate Vice President of the Office of Community, Equity and Diversity.
