LGBTQIA Resource Center, Coordinator(Job Number: 0176330)
Description


Job Purpose: Design, implement, and assess programs and events for the LGBTQIA community, students, and employees across campus.


Major Responsibilities:
Coordinate events and programs for students, faculty, and staff relating to LGBTQIA community, education, and advocacy, including discussion groups, initiatives, and training programs.


Conduct individual student advising and referral appointments.
Conduct program assessments and support assessment efforts for the Center by carrying out data entry and analysis.

Handle marketing and communications, including managing a newsletter, multiple social media accounts, and online calendars.

Coordinate logistics for education and training programs, including preparing training materials, reserving space, assigning facilitators, and handling program registration.

Recruit, train, and oversee student volunteers.

Represent the Center by presenting and tabling events across campus.

Perform other related duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Experience: One to three years job related experience

Certifications: N/A

Skills: This job requires a working knowledge of the issues facing the LGBTQIA community in higher education and a thorough understanding of how to coordinate programs using an intersectional approach. Previous experience developing programs, events, resources, and educational curricula relating to diversity, inclusion, and social justice is also required. Additional requirements include exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent written communication skills, and proficiency in facilitating trainings and/or presenting to a wide range of audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Education: Master's degree in Student Development, Student Affairs Administration, Higher Educations, Counseling, LGBT Studies, Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, or a closely related area
Preferred Work Experience: N/A
Preferred Certifications: N/A
Preferred Skills: Preferred skills include knowledge and experience with program assessment, experience with training and supervising volunteers, and skills using effective use of social media and email marketing.
