Dear colleagues and community:

Job posting: https://ejobs.umd.edu/postings/71896

We are hiring a full-time professional in the LGBT Equity Center at University of Maryland, College Park! Please share with your contacts/lists. Please note that this position was recently upgraded. I am the supervisor and hiring official. It’s an exciting opportunity to work in the Washington, DC beltway, and our campus is public transit accessible from the DC metro system and driving distance from Baltimore, allowing for choice of urban, suburban, town, or rural lifestyle all within commuting distance.

Although we have much work to do to continue our progress for intersectional social justice (and this role is an opportunity to engage that work), our campus has consistently rated among the top LGBTQ friendly colleges in the country. As a transgender person of color, I can tell you I have had an overall positive environment from my colleagues. If you have questions, you may send them to me at [email protected].

Please pay close attention to the minimum requirements (masters degree, two years of experience managing programs, and previous experience working with LGBTQ+ populations) and be sure the application explains how you meet them. UMD is serious about all successful candidates meeting 100% of the minimums. It is also important to address the knowledge, skills, and abilities, and (as applicable) the preferred qualifications.

The posting is open until filled, but if you apply by August 12th, 2019, you will receive the best consideration.

Best,
Shige Sakurai (they/them)
