There has been an alarming increase in targeted trolling/harassment campaigns targeting faculty and staff at my institution, and I suspect at many others, in the past few years. I am hoping to make policy recommendations for the university to support faculty and staff who are targeted in this way, potentially including work release, security coordination for in-person courses, and support groups for those being targeted. Does anyone have examples of similar measures, programs, or policies at other institutions? Thanks.

I realize this thread is a bit dated at this point. However, seeing no responses, I wanted to share information. The University of Iowa developed a guide for this express purpose after a few faculty members were targeted following their publications about critical whiteness.

Here is a link to the university document that emerged from the situation: https://provost.uiowa.edu/sites/provost.uiowa.edu/files/2021-07/Faculty_Support_Guidance.pdf.
