I am excited to share the posting for Ithaca College's next Pride Fellow. IC has consistently been ranked as one of the best colleges for LGBTQ+ students for over a decade, and this year was ranked #1 in the country by BestColleges.com. With more than half of our undergraduate students identifying within the LGBTQ+ umbrella, our center is a bustling hub of education, support, and community. Come work in the gorgeous Finger Lakes and join a community brimming with local LGBTQ history and culture that influenced the national and global LGBTQ rights movements.
Working in the LGBTQ Center alongside the Director, this 2-year fellowship is designed for recent graduates (masters or bachelors!) interested in pursuing careers in LGBTQ+ work in higher education. This is an hourly paid (19.60/hr, working out to roughly $38k yearly), benefits-eligible position, with on-campus housing included in the compensation package.
This position is a fantastic way to gain experience in student affairs while doing important advocacy and support work for our community. Past fellows have built supervision skills, learned event planning, and created new initiatives for our campus. The outgoing Pride Fellow, Lee Tyson, has generously offered to chat with candidates who would like to hear more about their experience.
