Delaware Valley University, in beautiful Doylestown, Pennsylvania, seeks an exceptional entrepreneurial Dean of Graduate Studies in the School of Graduate and Professional Studies who is visionary, experienced, and an energetic academic administrator. This individual will have a thorough understanding of the goals and values of a multi-disciplinary education and how it supports, intersects, and can partner with professional programs to lead and evolve Graduate Studies at Delaware Valley University. Named one of the Best in the Northeast by the Princeton Review in 2017, Delaware Valley University enrolls over 1,700 undergraduate and over 400 graduate students on its 500 + acre campus, which consists of four schools: Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Business and Humanities, Life and Physical Sciences, and Graduate and Professional Studies. The institution has a rich history in both practitioner-based instruction and experiential learning, and its Experience360 program provides all students with real world experience prior to graduation.

The School of Graduate and Professional Studies facilitates graduate and professional education by ensuring standards of excellence, promoting programs, and recruiting, retaining, and graduating quality students. The School of Graduate and Professional Studies aims to maintain flexibility through a combination of options from traditional
degree programs to progressive interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary choices and values the student's personal and professional interests, and career goals. The School’s current graduate offerings include master’s level programs in Counseling Psychology, Public Policy, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Educational Leadership, Teaching and Learning, and Special Education as well as a doctoral program in Educational Leadership with areas of study in both higher education and K-12 specializations. Future plans include expansion of offerings in Education as well as establishing programs in the area of healthcare.

Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty, the Dean of Graduate Studies provides leadership for all graduate level activities at Delaware Valley University. The Dean will collaborate with the undergraduate school deans to implement the University-wide strategic plan that was developed under President
Maria Gallo’s leadership and recently approved by the University’s Board of Trustees. The Dean will develop and implement a growth plan for the Graduate Studies including creating new programs and ensuring the continuation of high quality graduate programs. The Dean will be responsible for increasing the breath and depth of graduate programs, increasing graduate enrollment and revenue consistent with the University’s and the school’s strategic plans.

Core Responsibilities:
· Provide focused leadership for all graduate education and entrepreneurial programs including: coordinating the graduate school’s component of the strategic plan,
oversee the development of new graduate programs.
· Work closely with the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty and the Executive Director for Institutional Research and Effectiveness to
ensure high quality graduate education and to assist with accreditation related activities that impact graduate education.
· Increase graduate school revenue and enrollment.
· Work with the undergraduate deans and faculty to conceptualize, develop, implement and promote interdisciplinary and cross-University ideas for new graduate programs and scholarship/research enterprises.
· Collaborate with University personnel to ensure graduate program stability and growth consistent with the University’s Strategic Plan.
· Assist relevant institutional offices with the development and marketing of graduate programs and the recruitment, retention, graduation and career success of
students earning graduate degrees.
· Monitor the need for curriculum revision and development.
· In conjunction with graduate program directors, develop all budget projections and
monitor budgets for all school departments.
· Provide leadership for graduate education face-to- face and on-line learning.
· Engage in University strategic planning, and lead strategic growth in graduate programs.
· Supervise and support the staff of the school.
· Be responsible for the development and implementation all aspects of the school’s growth plan.
· Meet enrollment and revenue expectations
· Create a sense of community and graduate student culture within programs and across the school.
· Actively participate in internal governance by serving as a member of President’s Leadership Team and the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty’s Deans’ Council and Academic Council.
· Co-Chair the Graduate Council.
· Support diversity, inclusion and civility, and ensure fiscal responsibility within an environment of distributed leadership.
· Respond to unexpected events, projects, and external needs.
· Be responsive to other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty.

Qualifications:
· A Ph.D from an accredited university.
· Five years of academic leadership experience at the assistant/associate dean or dean level.
· Candidates must have experience leading and directing graduate programs, and dealing with regional and specialized accreditation.
o Preference will be given to candidates who have significant experience with program development, curriculum policy and development, program, community partnership building, student assessment and program review and knowledge of effective marketing and advertising campaigns.
· A commitment to graduate education and an understanding of the changing landscape in graduate education and graduate enrollment management is also required.
· University experience, familiarity with institutional research practices, strategic and curricular planning, and experience in a collective bargaining environment is preferred.
· Knowledge of the healthcare field is highly desirable.
· The successful applicant will have an established record of distinguished teaching and significant scholarship, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and
knowledge of the complexities of contemporary higher education and its constituents.
