Salary Range: $41,856 to $54,924 yearly depending on qualifications and experience

As the hub of campus information, Shoreline's Communications and Marketing department administers the College's internal and external communications, and enrollment marketing strategy. The department manages the website, print and online publications, advertising, social media, multimedia projects, event promotions, media relations and community outreach.

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the Web Communication Specialist (Communications Consultant 2) is the first point of contact on all website requests and supports the College's digital communication and marketing efforts by ensuring the smooth functioning of the College website and other online tools. The Web Communication Specialist balances strong writing skills and technical aptitude with a customer service mindset.

Essential Job Duties:
- Monitor and respond to customer service requests via Zendesk ticketing system
- Work with Associate Director of Web Strategy and campus clients to establish project requirements and timelines
- Review, edit, and approve submitted web content in the College's content management system (CMS)
- Build out new pages and features, troubleshoot errors, format images, and fix broken links
- Assist in maintaining campus-wide digital assets, calendaring, and blogging tools
- Assist in developing web and CMS training procedures, documentation and training sessions, and conducting usability testing
- Other duties as assigned of a similar level/nature

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Humanities, Public Relations, or related field, OR equivalent education/experience
- One (1) year experience with writing/editing or website management experience

KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Website maintenance and management, online platforms and content management systems
HTML, CSS, search engine optimization (SEO), usability, accessibility, and analytics
- Project management principles
- Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Creative Suite products.

SKILL IN:
- Fostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and competence
- Balancing writing skills and technical aptitude within a customer service mindset
- Working with writing and style guidelines while incorporating effective visual and design elements
- Time management, organization, and ability to meet competing deadlines/priorities
- Entering and/or retrieving data accurately in computerized record keeping systems
- Writing/editing/proofreading clear and concise materials resulting in effective oral and written communication
- Establishing/maintaining effective working relationships at all organizational levels
- Working with a diverse group of students, staff, and the public in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner
- Applying policies/procedures while recognizing when to seek support in decision-making
