Job Description:
Delaware Valley University invites applications for a non-tenure track assistant professor position in sociology, effective August 2019. We are looking for a specialist in political sociology or social policy to teach undergraduate classes in sociology and graduate classes in public policy. We seek a person who will build on our departments focus on inequality and social justice, food security, environmental policy, and/or economic policy. The ideal candidate would also be able to teach a graduate-level course in community-based research methods. Those who study the US or international contexts are equally encouraged to apply as are candidates with specialties in gender and/or minority issues. Applicants should submit a letter of application indicating their relevant research and teaching interests, a curriculum vitae, and the names and contact information for three references.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D in Sociology
Specialization in political sociology or social policy
Broad academic and/or professional experience in sociology
Experience teaching sociology and/or policy at the undergraduate and graduate level
Proven commitment to research and scholarship
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring

Reporting directly to the Chairperson of the Liberal Arts Department, this faculty member will:
Teach undergraduate sociology courses as assigned based on the candidates background
Teach graduate level courses in Public Policy as assigned
Post and maintain regular office hours
Attend regularly scheduled faculty and department meetings
Assist with departmental needs and development
Perform other duties as assigned
